Full-time Finance Generalist
Hours: Full-time; 40 hours per week; M - F; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
All employees must be available to work all public service hours; including evenings, weekends, and Sunday.
Start Date: April 1, 2021
I am an organizational accountability partner. I engage across the library system to align our work with standard financial and accounting policies, procedures and practices, as well as statutory internal control requirements. I ensure employees, contractors, and other government agencies are paid on a timely basis and in efficient manner in accordance with the regulations and laws governing the library. I will be an experienced and knowledgeable analyst when reconciling bank statements, general ledgers and tax filings and will increase efficiency and effectiveness by improving processes, recommending tools and developing systems. I will effectively manage the payroll function, maintaining organized and accurate records and reports to ensure compliance with government filings, tax laws and regulations. I must consistently continue my education to stay in compliance with changing laws and regulations to aid the library's success. I ensure the highest level of accuracy in the recording and reporting of all financial transactions including compliance with rules regulations and laws governing my work. I am a steward of the organizational and public trust. I adhere to professional and ethical standards in all my work.

What I Need to Know to Be Successful
I need to have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or related field with considerable experience working with fund accounting. I may be a preferred candidate if I have a Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional.
I will have thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Fund Accounting guidelines and laws.
I will be a critical thinker with a keen eye for detail, with exceptional organizational, analytical and communication skills. I will possess supurb detective and creative problem‐solving skills, while maintaining sound judgement and governance in a position of trust. I will be adaptable, accepting, and receptive to and handle change well.
I need reliable and timely transportation to and from work.
What I Need to Know About the Physical Requirements
