Materials Transfer Clerk
Hours: Part-time 20 hours
Must be available to work all public service hours; including evenings, weekends, and Sunday.
Start Date: Immediately
I will be an organized and skilled worker when processing, moving or transferring library materials. I recognize I must maintain related records regarding library materials for tracking and communication purposes. In conjunction with my coworkers, I will prioritize my tasks to guarantee all materials are transferred in a timely manner for displays or book sales. Furthermore, when reporting monthly statistics, I will confirm all information is accurate and up to date to avoid miscommunications or confusion with management.

My Positional Role
In cooperation with the Collection Services Manager, Materials Transfer Coordinator, and other colleagues, I will advance the Library's mission, vision, strategic priorities and brand by being a curious and engaged learner, sharing my ideas. Withdrawing and transferring library materials; transferring and moving related materials frequently weighing 45 to 60 pounds between library locations; modifying related records accordingly. Including disabling bar codes and RFID tags.
What I Need to Know About the Physical Requirements
My work requires the frequent exertion of up to 45 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 60 pounds of force; work regularly requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting, speaking or hearing and lifting and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, using of measuring devices, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices).
